The goal of children's programming at the Wainfleet Township Public Library is to provide children with a positive library experience in which to develop and nurture a life-long love of reading and learning.
Kids and Family Programs
Story Hour/Crafts
Stories, songs, activities and crafts for children of all ages.
Preschool Story Time
An interactive six week program of stories, songs, activities and crafts for children ages 3 to 5 years and their parents or caregivers.
Summer Reading Program
The TD Summer Reading Program can help keep your children busy and happy during the summer while encouraging them to enjoy reading. Designed for children 12 and under, the Club is designed to be stimulating, motivating and fun. There's something for everyone: stories, nursery rhymes, songs, quizzes, celebrations, treasure hunts, crafts and contests.
January/March School Break & P.A. Day Programs
During the January and March school breaks and on P.A. days the library offers programs to keep your children busy. Check our newsletters or flyers for specific program details
Class Visits/ Library Orientation Tours
Our class visit program is a great way to introduce students to the informational and recreational resources available to them at their public library.
Teens Programs
What Every Babysitter Should Know
This award-winning course from St. John Ambulance teaches the skills necessary to care for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. It emphasizes safety, dealing with emergencies and first aid basics. Course materials include an instructor's guide, a student activity book, a certificate suitable for framing and a wallet-size certificate.
Class Visits/Library Orientation Tours/Research Skills
Our class visit program is a great way to introduce students to the informational and recreational resources available to them at their public library. Once the children reach
grade 4, we offer a research skills orientation which is curriculum based.
Volunteer/Community Service Hours Program
Students can apply to volunteer at our library by completing an application form available at our circulation desk. Volunteering will teach students valuable skills and help them to reach their required community service hours.
Adults Programs
Book Club
The book club meets the last Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Library meeting room, excluding the months of July, August and December. Patrons interested in participating can pick up a free copy of the book at the front desk as it becomes available. Only registered members of the book club can borrow book club books.
